Art Inspired by the Ancient Magic of Trees
The Timeless Magic of Trees
Trees have always fascinated me. As a child I would spend hours swinging and spinning on a swing that was attached to a huge old tree and imagining that it was more than just a tree, but a magical transporter to the playful fairy realms. Then there was the ancient Oak that my best friend and I used to visit after picking wild raspberries. It was a wise, ancient being, holding secrets that only those patient enough could even begin to imagine. The thick roots seemed to stretch deep into the earth, anchoring it to another world. Even now, that childhood connection influences the way I approach my work.
Trees are symbols of resilience, wisdom, and mystery. When I began painting, I naturally gravitated toward them as subjects. There was an unspoken allure in their form, the way their branches reach toward the sky, yet their roots run deep into the hidden secrets of the earth. These silent sentinels have existed long before us and some will remain long after we are gone. In many ways, they represent a bridge between the human experience and the spirit of the natural world—something timeless, constant, and filled with a deep, sacred magic.
The Art of Trees: An Exploration of Form and Function
Trees have always held a deeper meaning for me—they represent life, patience, beauty, and majesty. I have always felt very closely connected to trees. I also find that I am able to communicate with them, which is something that has made me a little different, but I’m not ashamed to admit it. They are not static forms; they are living entities with a presence that longs to connect with humans. They want to offer peace, solitude, and serenity to us. We only need to stop and appreciate them and tell them they are beautiful. Expressing our acknowledgement of their beauty allows the tree to see its own beauty which elevates the collective consciousness. These are the types of feelings I try to express through my paintings. My hope is that viewers will feel a deeper connection with trees and Nature when experiencing my art. I am here to help foster that connection and bring more beauty to the world.
